Several letters were received by Catherine up to 1904. One of which
I have a copy of, courtesy of my cousin Janice. In the last he said
he was on his way home. This is the last that was heard of him.
I have checked the new website www.ancestorsonboard.com/ to see
exactly when he went over but without success.
Back in Southwark also on the 1901 census return just next door,
living at 35 Date Street, Walworth I found a Stephen Newnham, head
of family, aged 27, a 'printers cutter and warehouseman', born in Lambeth,
and Caroline M his wife aged 21 and born in Walworth. Stephen Alfred
and Caroline Mary Williams were married at St Peters, Walworth on 15th April 1900.
